Requirements for Service

I’ve outfitted my van to be entirely self-sufficient in order to offer my services virtually anywhere I can park my van, but I do have a few location requirements.

• Off-street parking only - I do NOT offer curb-side service. A driveway or private parkade with at least 7’0” of overhead clearance is required in order to complete my services safely as well as adhering to local bylaws. The lower mainland does have a tendency for under-height parking garages, so if you’re considering my services, please check your posted heights.

• The ability to park my van within 50’ of the vehicle being serviced. My air, power, and water supply are all contained within my van with limited length, so having my van and equipment within reach are essential.

• Enough room to comfortably open all doors of the vehicle being serviced - this applies to both interior and exterior services. A lot of the tedious spots to clean require the doors to open completely in order for me to reach and do a thorough job.

Complete Interior Detail, $195 - $325 + GST

• Vehicle’s carpet, upholstery, and floor mats are blown free of debris, vacuumed, shampooed, steam cleaned, and given a wet vac extraction

• All-weather rubber mats are pressure-washed, scrubbed clean with degreaser, and a protective dressing is applied

• All hard surfaces blown free of debris, lathered with a soft brush, scrubbed, & wiped free of contaminants

• Leather components treated with a leather-specific cleaner & brush, wiped free of contaminants, and conditioned when required

• Dashboard & vents cleaned with solution and compressed air

• Inside of windows, & interior mirrors cleaned to a streak-free finish

Run time for an interior detail can vary from 3 - 5 hours, billed at my hourly rate of $65/H + GST. Length of time required to complete the service will vary depending on the size of vehicle, condition, cloth upholstery versus leather, pet hair, and children, among other factors. Exterior Hand Wash, $65 - $130 + GST

A complete exterior detail is the perfect option for a car that is cared for routinely but in need of more than what a touchless car wash can offer. It addresses all the areas commonly missed or not easily reached with a drive-thru wash. Door and trunk jambs, body lines and window trims prone to pollen or algae build-up, as well as the inner wheel barrels and fender liners are all addressed with this service. If your vehicle has been a little neglected or parked outside for an extended period of time, you may consider the ‘Complete’ exterior detail instead.

• Wheels, wheel wells, & tires are cleaned with a non-acidic solution

• Vehicle is given a pre-rinse, followed by a foam soak to remove loose contaminants before a hand wash is performed with pH-balanced soap

• Door jambs cleaned & sealed

• Wheel well liners & tires are dressed with a high-gloss protectant

• Exterior glass & mirrors are cleaned to a streak-free finish

Run time for a hand wash can vary from 1 - 2 hours, billed at my hourly rate of $65/H + GST. Length of time required to complete the process will be determined by size and condition of vehicle. Please reach out to obtain an estimate specific to your vehicle.

Exterior Hand Wash, Claybar & Wax, $195 - $260 + GST

The complete exterior detail is a step-up from a hand wash and addresses all the embedded contaminants that are not easily removed with a standard hand wash as well as offering a layer of protection to all the painted surfaces. It’s the perfect option for a car that may not have been waxed or washed regularly and may be suffering a little visually. It adds a chemical decontamination and a mechanical decontamination to the basic detail which will restore the smooth glass-like texture to the vehicles paint before a coat of wax sealant is laid over all the panels. This leaves the vehicle looking and feeling great, as well as protecting against those same tree, pollen, and iron deposits moving forward.

• Vehicle is given a pre-rinse, followed by a foam soak to remove loose contaminants before a hand wash is performed with pH-balanced soap

• Chemical decontamination by means of Iron & Tar remover to lift iron deposits and environmental fall-out

• Mechanical decontamination with clay bar

• Machine application of high-quality synthetic paint sealant/wax on all painted surfaces

• Door jambs cleaned & sealed

• Wheel well liners & tires are dressed with a high-gloss protectant

• Plastic trims dressed & treated with a UV protectant

• Exterior glass & mirrors are cleaned to a streak-free finish

Run time for a complete exterior detail can vary from 3 - 4 hours, billed at my hourly rate of $65/H + GST. Length of time required to complete the process will be determined by size and condition of vehicle. Please reach out to obtain an estimate specific to your vehicle.

One-Step Paint Correction, $325 - $520 + GST

Paint correction - also known as a ‘cut polish’ or ‘buffing’ - refers to using a dual-action polisher to remove superficial swirls and defects to reveal the intended gloss and clarity of your vehicles paint. Swirls, marring, chalkiness, and oxidized, cloudy paint can occur over the years with poor washing habits, aggressive hand washing, or simply neglect. It’s these combination of defects that can make your solid black paint appear almost grey, or a bright red appear to have a pink hue. The one-step correction is a single step enhancement using a product specifically designed to remove those swirl marks and marring while simultaneously leaving behind a layer of wax sealant. It’s the difference between seeing a deep, clear reflection in your cars paint, versus washed-out colour and poor reflective properties. This same correction process is suitable for single-stage paints as well as the now more common clear-coated paints.

This service can be upgraded to include a ceramic coating instead of a wax sealant.

• Vehicle is given a pre-rinse, followed by a foam soak to remove loose contaminants before a two-bucket wash is performed with pH-balanced soap

• Chemical decontamination by means of Iron & Tar remover to lift iron deposits and environmental fall-out

• Mechanical decontamination with clay bar

• One-Step machine polish, removing light to moderate defects and scratches while applying a layer of protective sealant

• Door jambs cleaned & sealed

• Wheel well liners & tires are dressed with a low gloss protectant

• Plastic trims dressed & treated with a UV protectant

• Exterior glass & mirrors are cleaned to a streak-free finish

  Run time for a one-step paint correction can vary from 6 - 8 hours, billed at my hourly rate of $65/H + GST. Length of time required to complete the process will be determined by size and condition of vehicle. These are also booked on a weather-permitting basis unless a garage is available to complete the service. Please reach out to obtain an estimate specific to your vehicle.

Two-Step Paint Correction, Starting at $800 + GST

Two-step refers to a ‘cutting’ step with a dual-action polisher and abrasive compound which removes 80 - 90% of swirls, minor scratches and abrasions. This is then followed up with a second, less aggressive, ‘polishing’ step which further refines the finish and produces maximum gloss and clarity before either a wax sealant or ceramic coating is applied.

This service can be upgraded to include a ceramic coating instead of a wax sealant.

• Vehicle is given a pre-rinse, followed by a foam soak to remove loose contaminants before a two-bucket wash is performed with pH-balanced soap

• Chemical decontamination by means of Iron & Tar remover to lift iron deposits and environmental fall-out

• Two-stage machine compound & polish to remove light, moderate, and heavy defects

• Door jambs cleaned & sealed

• Wheel well liners & tires are dressed with a low gloss protectant

• Plastic trims dressed & treated with a UV protectant

• Exterior glass & mirrors are cleaned to a streak-free finish

Two-stage paint corrections may sometimes require up to two full days of working time depending on the size of vehicle. This can land anywhere in the 12 - 16 hour range and $780 - $1040 + GST. Please feel free to reach out for an estimate for your specific vehicle.

Ceramic Coating, Upgrade available for $130 - $190 + GST

Ceramic coatings have been marketed heavily over the past few years, but I believe there’s some confusion at a consumer level about what it is they actually accomplish. The benefits of a ceramic coating are long-lasting protection - sometimes ten times that of a conventional carnauba wax - as well as a significantly more durable finish with a measurable thickness that resists swirl marks from repeated washing. It also has excellent hydrophobic properties which makes subsequent washes a lot easier as dirt, pollen, environmental fallout and iron particles have a much tougher time adhering to the surface of your vehicle. What ceramic coatings do NOT offer, however, is protection against scratches, rock chips, or impacts. To see those kind of benefits, you would need to invest in a paint protection film (PPF).

Because the ceramic coating is such a long-lasting product, it only makes sense to lock in the best paint finish possible, which is why I always offer the option of a ceramic coating after paint corrections. I’ve tried many coatings over the years, but have always come back to Gtechniq’s Crystal Serum Light as my go-to coating for ease of application and long term durability.

The option of a ceramic coating can be added to both single step and two step paint corrections. The application process usually adds between 1 - 2 hours of working time following a correction, and between $130 - $190 + GST for the cost of the product itself depending on the size of vehicle. It is required that the vehicle be stored inside for the night following the coating application in order for it to cure without moisture or contaminants settling on the coating.
